“GIVE ME STRENGTH” That’s was I shouted after wasting ?3500 on trying to get a decent website. “GOD HELP ME” That’s what I shouted after I employed someone to build my website and they still couldn’t get it right. So I took matters into my own hands and searched the internet far and wide for an easy to use online website building program and found something amazing.

“COME ON MY SON” That’s what I shouted when I found a very simple website building program that didn’t just rely on templates, was very versatile and almost 2 million websites had been built using this platform. (This says they must be doing something right) After a few evenings tinkering about with it I had built a website far superior to the other websites that the so called website designers had built for me in the past. Then I spent the next couple of months adding to it and changing and testing it, because that’s what you can do when you’ve built your own website, you can make instant changes whenever you like and it isn’t going to cost you a penny.

The name for the SiteBuilder I have been going on about is Moonfruit.

Being able to build my own website has helped me to get ahead of my competitors It’s really easy when you spend just a few hours sussing it out. I am not affiliated with Moonfruit in anyway, I just think their SiteBuilder is excellent and believe that it would help you to get ahead of your competitors.

Even my 14 year old son can use it, he has spent a couple of evenings on it and built a couple of cool sites. It’s so easy and quick to build websites that you will be knocking websites together in no time.

Here are a few tips to getting your site sorted:

Anything you can’t work out just send an email to their support and carry on doing something else, you will get a response back the next day. Build the general look of your site first on the home page, then copy the bits that you want on every page onto the ‘Pagemaster’ Do some research on Search Engine Optimization it will help you get your site on the first page of Google If you’re stuck for a nice layout then find a website you like the look of and base your site design around that. I haven’t done this but I am sure that if you read all the help menus it will be even easier to master. (I don’t do manuals.)

If you want to get ahead of your competitors I recommend you learn how to build and manage your own website, if you really can’t do it get your son/daughter or other family member to do it.

Signs Made Easy

The nitty-gritty and the know-how required to set up an Internet business is more or less the same as that required to start an offline business. However, since you are about to create a digital enterprise or business, the mode of doing business, operations and the actual business operations change. Also, if you want to develop or start an online business in the U.K, you will have to know what is involved in starting and setting-up a business in the U.K.

With over 3.7 million business owners in the U.K and with 2.3 million of them being businesses without any employees (business owners operating solo), starting your own business in U.K should be a viable option for you.

HMRC (Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs) has clear rules for individuals who are self-employed. Setting up your own online business in the U.K – be it selling stuff on eBay, selling services online, creating products to sell them for profit, buying stuff with the intention of re-selling products, etc. – requires that you classify as a self-employed individual and you must register as such with HMRC within 3 months of starting your business to avoid fines.

If you intend to operate solo and do not intend to have employees, you may operate with a normal bank account. Also, you don’t need to maintain elaborate records as such; just a simple income and expense sheet will do. However, your basic accounts should still be supported by due evidence of all income earned such as invoices sent to your clients, bills pertaining to expenses, etc.

Once you are set-up and ready for operations, you are ready to go. Furthermore, make sure that you pick a good insurance policy for your life, health and your car. Also, maintain a separate account in your bank for your life savings, investments and the like. All that work for no money when you can’t work for some reason isn’t a pretty picture. Pay your taxes regularly and keep on top of your business cash flow.

That part – the one mentioned above – is called due diligence. One you are done with that, it’s all a matter of how aggressive you are when it comes to sourcing leads and sales for your business and how competently you manage to work and provide to your clients.

You have registered your business domain and managed to
secure a real short and catchy ‘.com’ domain name. It’s
optimized with your major keyword and describes your
company business to perfection….Congratulations!

You have built your website and optimized for the search
engines. Your site contains plenty of good, original
content and you have achieved some real useful back-links
from very popular related sites. In fact you are starting
to make some real headway in the search engines for
searches on your major keyword…Great you are on
your way!

Then, you think…”Wait a minute, what about the ‘net, org,
biz, info, co.uk etc. Shouldn’t I register these domains also
before someone else does? And what about the misspellings
and other popular keyword domains that are related to the
theme of my website? You know what, I’m going to register
these too. I mean, after all, domains are pretty cheap and
for sure all these domains MUST bring even more targeted
traffic to my site”

So you go ahead and register ALL versions of your domain
and also a few other domains which include variations of
your main keyword. You go ahead and park them all on your
main hosting account…Each domain serving the content of
your main website.

Then what happens? You sit back and enjoy the extra
traffic your other domain acquisitions have brought, right?.

Wrong! In fact, panic sets in. Your rankings start to
drop dramatically. You can’t find your site anywhere in ANY
major search engine! Your site has literally dropped like
a stone.

What happened? Where did you go wrong?

Well, the answer is duplicate content and the solution
is the magic and very simple 301.

Huh?

Yep. By registering a bundle of domain names and
parking them on your main domain you have created a group
of web sites with EXACTLY the same web content
It’s called duplicate content and in the eyes of all major
search engines it is just plain “BAD” and for sure your site
WILL be penalized.

So does that mean you need to create different websites for
each of the domains that you purchased. Well, you could
if you wanted but that would be a lot of hard work.

The solution is a simple 301 direct. Using a 301 direct on
each of your domain names you are able to redirect the domain
to you main website address and will not be penalized by the
search engines. In fact they like the good old 301. It will
actually IMPROVE your ranking.

So remember, registering multiple domains is an excellent
strategy for driving extra traffic to your site BUT just be
sure to use the 301 redirect command on each otherwise you
will be penalizing yourself!

There are several techniques you can use to make money online using your own computer without any special hardware. Whether your computer is old and you think it’s no use to you any more or it’s brand new top of the range, it doesn’t matter, as long as it’s has an internet connection and you are willing to learn.

The easiest way is to get paid for taking surveys. This method is where you can get paid to answer questions in online surveys. There are many sites you can join and they will send you surveys from companies that need consumer input to find out what the general public want in the way of services, products etc.

The second easiest way is to promote (advertise) other peoples products. This is called being an affiliate. This way has very little cost to set up and is favoured by people that want to start a business on a shoestring and you don’t need a website.

Maybe you have being laid off from work or working all the hours in the day and do not have much time to get started online. This way is quick to set up and will look after itself as the person who owns this product has to do all the customer service and legwork. You just collect your affiliate checks that arrive in the mail.

The third way needs a bit more creativity. Sell your own products. For this you will need to create your own product. The best thing is an e-book. I am sure you have hobbies. Write a detailed instruction about you hobby, maybe it’s golf, gardening, computers, travel etc. I’m sure you can think of something you are really good at that you could share your knowledge with others and in return get money for it. You could start be selling your items around the house maybe on an auction site to get an idea into the way process works. Obviously in business it is a little more complicated but it will help you to feel encouraged that you can do it.

This is a very brief article to help you to decide what you would like to do in the online world. Be encouraged most entrepreneurs started out just like you.
